Juan – Sacramento, CA – ADOPTED!

JuanSitNameAlright… now this young guy is CUTE! Juan is so super easy, very laid back. Walks great on a leash. Kinda just goes with the flow. The shelter staff said he was scared of his own shadow, but we didn’t see anything too concerning. He did cower when we picked up a bag of treats too quickly. When feels like he’s not getting enough attention, he likes to nip on your hands while on his back. Juan is good with medium/large dogs but might be too interested in the little ones. He is crate trained and may need a refresher on house training.

Daisy – Sebastopol, CA – ADOPTED!

DaisyMedDaisy girl. She has a sad story. She was part of a domestic violence situation. Daisy was in the home the night her owner shot his ex-girlfriend and her daughter before turning the gun on himself. The ex-girlfriend and daughter survived. Poor Daisy was part of an investigation so she had to stay in the shelter for a while until we were able to spring her. She is doing wellin our interim kennel but is in need of TLC and a person to help her PTSD. She is no longer afraid of gunshots, fireworks and M80s, but sirens will make her almost crawl up the wall. This girl needs a bully savvy home where she can relax and heal. Daisy is about 4 years old and about 45lbs. She is will need refreshers in crate, leash and house training. She plays rough with other dogs so we’d like to see her in a home where she’s the only pet, especially during her healing phase. She’s available for foster/foster-to-adopt as she will need to be spayed prior to permanent placement.

If you are interested in fostering Daisy please fill out an application here: http://www.bullterrierrescue.org/?page_id=572

Maggie – Buena Park, CA – ADOPTED!

MaggieBeforeAfter2When the South Los Angeles shelter called us about a 4mo girl running the streets with severe mange, we just had to help her! Maggie has been lovingly fostered by Peggy Reynolds, and is now almost completely recovered after 4 months of TLC. Maggie has been spayed; and she is now ready for a few foster/forever home! This little muffin is now about 8 months old and weighs about 33lbs. She is extremely people-focused and loves to snuggle. The dogs in her foster home are extra exuberant or cranky so she has been a bit intimated by them. Her ideal home is a Bull Terrier experienced one where she is the only pet so that focus on socialization and structure (a bit of food aggression surfaces once in a blue moon but she is easily corrected)…but a home with a super submissive and gentle male might work. Maggie is crate and house trained but will need some work on a leash. If your information is not on file, please complete our application so that we can get to know you better:http://www.bullterrierrescue.org/?page_id=572. Thank you! ~Suz

Ruger (Deaf) – Seattle, WA – ADOPTED!

RugerSitNameRuger is a fun loving, energetic, deaf 53lb guy who is so happy about Life. He is 10 months old (born 9-15-14); and he is an affable guy who is happy to play by himself or with other dogs. Ruger learns very quickly and is very food motivated (he knows “no”, “look”, “yes”, “stop”, “sit”, “lie down” and “shake”). He is also a master counter and table surfer so that is in the process of being curbed. Ruger is tall and lean – – perfect for hikes, runs and even performance sports such as agility. This guy is simply delightful…he is great with all genders and ages (he’s is gentle with younger children as to not knock them over). Ruger is not a fan of the kitties.  If your information is not on file, please complete our application (http://www.bullterrierrescue.org/?page_id=572). If you would like more information about this great little guy, please feel free to contact his foster dad, Bo, at Seeger7@gmail.com.

Wally – Porterville – – ADOPTED!

WallyWelcome to Wally World!!! Wally loves life and will take the time to find the joy in discovering things during walks. He is very dog-social and has been great with children. We placed Wally earlier this year but he recently got into a scuffle with a male Bulldog when they were left alone unsupervised. Wally redirected for a second at a party trying to break up the scuffle but there was not a bite. Wally is returning to our program as his adopter does not understand that this is a dog management issue and not aggression that will escalate to people.

Rocky – ADOPTED

RockyBedtimeNameRocky (formerly Harry) is returning to our Rescue as his owner’s new husband cannot overcome his fear of dogs despite numerous therapy sessions. Rocky is now almost 3 years old and he weighs about 45lbs. Although he got along with a small dog in his prior home, he’s been a bit grumpy towards the dogs in his interim foster spot. Rocky had a bit of a limp when he first arrived in our Rescue. An ortho review showed an old injury to his hip that has healed on its own. Surgery was not recommended and Rocky has been doing well with joint supplements. Rocky is crate, leash and house trained. If anyone’s interested in fostering him, we certainly wouldn’t mind! His ideal foster home is one where he’s the only pet so that we can determine his boundaries with other dogs and if he has any pain in his hip. Thanks for any consideration! ~Suz

Archie – ADOPTED!

MinnieArchieNameArchie was surrendered to a shelter when one of his owners fell seriously ill.  This little tornado loves people (especially kids) and other dogs.  The resident female Bull Terrier in his foster home has been a saint to put up with his endless requests to play.  We’re not sure how he is with cats…he seems to like chasing them but we’re not sure what he’ll do once he catches up to them.  Archie is crate, house, leash and truck trained (he LOVES to ride in trucks!). This little fellow is about 9 months old and 40-45 pounds.

Oreo, Las Vegas – ADOPTED!

OreoLVOreo is a delightful girl who passed her shelter temperament and dog:dog tests with flying colors. In her prior home, she had lived with a male Bull Terrier and did not have any issues with him. This little muffin is about 2 years old. Due to space constraints at the shelter, we need to find a foster spot for her ASAP. An interim fosterer would work too. If your information isn’t on file with us yet, please complete our application (we’ve heard that the submission won’t go through if done through phones/iPads so please complete via computer or laptop): http://www.bullterrierrescue.org/?page_id=572

Please check out Oreo’s YouTube Video!  Her pictures do not do her justice!

Tickles, Sebastopol – – ADOPTED!

TicklesNameTickles is a very affectionate 40lb girl who needs a new home as she was getting into fights with the 10.5yo male Jack Russell Terrier mix (but fine with the beagle mix) in her former home.  She is a 2yo (born March 2013) spitfire who would be ideal with an active family. With the required exercise, she’ll be a great companion around the house and would love to hang out on the couch with you.  Although she is fine with dogs on walks and in playgroups, she does not do well with dominant/pushy dogs.   She is a dominant girl who will thrive with loving leaders and a structured environment.  She is crate, house and leash trained.   If your information is not yet on file, our application can be found here:  http://www.bullterrierrescue.org/?page_id=572.

Layla – Livermore, CA – – Foster Home Urgently Needed

YeyaSwimsuitName YeyaDottieAliceMed

Layla’s foster home burned down on 11/1 (everyone’s OK, thank goodness!) so she needs a new spot right away. Layla is about 5 years old and 45-ish pounds. She is good with other dogs but not on a longterm basis. She is wonderful with kitties and children (even toddlers). She can have skin issues that occasionally flare up but those can be resolved with supplements, medicated baths and a grainfree diet. Layla’s a couch potato indoors but loves to go on walks. She can be a bolter so make sure she’s all leashed up before the door opens! If your information is not yet on file, please complete our application here: http://www.bullterrierrescue.org/?page_id=572 Thank you for any consideration! ~Suz
