Zena is entering our program as her owner had to unexpectedly relocate due to work and could not take Zena and Kopi with her. This sweet 7mo girl is very playful, easygoing and friendly. Per the owner surrender form, she is good with children, cats and other dogs. Both have been wonderful in the shelter playgroups. Zena is crate trained but will likely need a refresher in house and leash manners. Alice – Cloverdale, Surrey BC (Canada) – ADOPTED!
Isn’t this the cutest picture? Alice is available and in the BC area. She does have a meet-n-greet scheduled for the Easter weekend. Alice is about 5 years old and 25-30lbs. She is dog-selective so her ideal home is one where she’ll be the only pet and where there are older children in the family. Alice is not a fan of the kitties. Sancho – San Jose, CA – ADOPTED!
Sancho is a high energy 19 month guy who needs more activities than working parents with a toddler can give him. He is very social with dogs of all sizes but tend to annoy them with his exuberance to play. He does challenge the toddler so he’ll need a home with no or older children. Sancho likes to chase the cat that hangs around his front yard but we’re not sure what will happen if he ever caught up to it. This 65lb guy is crate, leash and obedience trained. Zuko – Las Vegas, NV – ADOPTED!
Poor Zuko just can’t catch a break. His awesome foster dad had to leave for California immediately after a family emergency. His stay in California will be extended and he cannot bring Zuko with him as he’ll be caring for his father and have extended work hours in the family business. We have him back with his former interim fosterer but she can only hold for a week due to work constraints. Zuko will need an experienced and confident fosterer who will maintain the much needed structure, leadership and boundaries that he’s been thriving on the past few weeks. He is dominant and will resource guard his favored person so a strong, confident but loving leader who won’t be hesitant about giving him much needed structure is a must. He is good with other dogs but on a limited basis as he can become overstimulated during play. Zuko is 1.5 years old and about 52lbs. Our paws are crossed for this challenging little fellow. Sissy – Lake Elsinore, CA – Foster Home Urgently Needed
Sissy needs a new home due to her family’s housing issues. She is about 3 to 5 years old and 65lbs. This mellow girl is great with the grandkids that are toddlers as well as the older ones. She’s a couch potato that gets snappy with the GSD x Basenji male when she doesn’t want to be bothered during naps. She did adore a tiny Chihuahua until he passed away. She gets very excited when she sees other dogs so on the safe side, she doesn’t get to meet them. Sissy is house trained but may need a refresher on leash and crate training. Sophie entered our program when she and the little resident Yorkie kept getting in scuffles, with the poor Yorkie being severely injured after the last incident. She is great with other dogs (is in playgroups with Luna, Petey, Burro and Casper at the kennel), just not the resident Yorkie. Sophie is almost 3 years old (born 6/1/16); and she is about 35lbs. Shorty – Seaside, CA – Not Available
Shorty is an awesome 1.5yo guy who was likely born with a spinal issue that was not discovered nor treated when he lost the use of his hind legs about 8 months ago. Once he arrived in rescue, he started physical, laser and water therapy to strengthen the muscles in his hind legs. He buzzes around in his donated wheelchair (thank you, Jodi Morimoto!). Shorty is about 45 to 50lbs…he is the sweetest guy who isn’t letting a slight disability stop his partying ways. His playstyle is rough so he is good with larger dogs on a limited basis (he gets overstimulated). He might be good with cats as their company seem to relax him a bit.
